The Elk River Medical Clinic, located in Banner Elk, NC, (approximately 12 miles south of Boone), has been a steadfast pillar in this rural community for decades—serving local families for over 30 years. As an innovative extension of our rural training program, the clinic is now staffed by two core faculty members (Dr. Magner and Dr. Smith) and expanding to include prenatal and pediatric care, while maintaining its longstanding focus on the region’s aging population.
